Prior to law school Marla worked in the banking industry. She worked as a bank teller and collection specialist through college. After obtaining her degree in Business Finance from Arizona State University she worked full time for Bank of America as a collection specialist until she started law school. Marla obtained her law degree from Gonzaga University in May 1997. For the past 20 years Marla has practiced primarily in the area of family law. She has been with the Firm since 2000 and was named a principal in 2005. She has been an active member of the Spokane County Bar Association and board member for the past several years serving as a Trustee 2013-2015, Treasurer 2016-2016, President-Elect/Secretary 2016-2017, and President 2017-2018. In addition to her work with the Spokane County Bar Association, she serves as the President of the Board of Directors for the Martin Luther King Family Outreach Center in Spokane. She has been a Pro Tem Court Commissioner for Spokane County Superior Court since 2005. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her family and can often be found attending sporting events for one of her two children.
